While our terroir in Montalcino is famous for producing exceptional Sangiovese, it also works wonders with other varietals like Cabernet Franc, Syrah, and Merlot. At Terralsole, we planted these favorites to craft our Single Vineyard and Blended SuperTuscans, each offering a unique expression of our land. Each of these SuperTuscans captures the versatility of Montalcino, showcasing the complexity, balance, and elegance of our non-Sangiovese varietals. Whether it’s the refined structure of Pasticcio, the approachable charm of Trio, the unique blend of Senza Età, or the depth of our single-varietal Merlot and Syrah, there is something special in every bottle.
Our cult blend, Pasticcio, was created in honor of the Bordeaux tradition, where Mario studied winemaking. This blend balances the elegance of Cabernet Franc, the spice of Syrah, and the richness of Merlot, offering a structured yet lush SuperTuscan. Pasticcio is a tribute to craftsmanship and pays homage to both Tuscany and Bordeaux.
Trio combines Cabernet Franc, Syrah, and Merlot to create a beautifully balanced, approachable wine. Perfect for introducing friends to Montalcino’s diverse terroir, Trio stands out by using Cabernet Franc instead of the more typical Cabernet Sauvignon, resulting in a round, super-drinkable SuperTuscan that is both elegant and unique.
Senza Età was born out of experimentation during COVID, blending older and younger vintages of all four varietals—Sangiovese, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, and Merlot. This one-time bottling harmonizes the complexity and roundness of older vintages with the freshness and structure of newer ones. Senza Età is ready to drink now but also has the potential to age gracefully for years to come. With just one bottling made, it’s a rare gem not to be missed.
Our Merlot called Coldoro and Syrah (Solista) are bottled as single-varietal wines to let their full character shine. These wines are given the gift of time, aged until they reach their peak expression. The current release, from the 2007 vintage, exemplifies the depth and power that these grapes can achieve in Montalcino’s unique climate. Bold, structured, and beautifully crafted, they offer a true reflection of our terroir.
